Biography
Gladys Noel Bates (née Gladys Winnie Noel; March 26, 1920 – October 15, 2010) was an African-American civil rights pioneer, and educator. In 194, she filed a lawsuit, Gladys Noel Bates vs. the State of Mississippi, charging salary discrimination against black teachers and principals.
