Black identity and mixed heritage

Mixed Black heritage qualifies. Biographical identity should be supported by self-identification, documented ancestry or reliable biographical sources. We do not infer identity from photographs, nationality, names or activism alone.

Historical evidence

History profiles concern actual people. Folklore belongs in the culture collection and is labelled as tradition. Disputed dates, identities and achievements must be described as uncertain or withheld when evidence is insufficient.

The full history roster has been screened for obvious mismatches, but a complete individual identity and portrait audit is still in progress. A linked biography is not a claim that every detail has been independently certified.

Business ownership

Black-founded and currently Black-owned are distinct. We record the source, review date, and evidence basis: company statement, independent reporting, directory-reported ownership or editorial review. Directory-reported entries rely on the named publisher's Black-owned classification; owner names and private shareholdings may not be independently confirmed.

New community submissions remain private until an administrator reviews the evidence and confirms current Black ownership. Approved community profiles require a new review after 90 days. Duplicate company names or website domains are blocked.

Images

We use attributed sources where available. Automatically fetched illustrations must not be treated as independently verified portraits. Where no suitable image is confirmed, a text or initials placeholder is appropriate. We do not invent historical photographs.

Corrections

Report a correction with the page link, the claim at issue and a reliable source. We review submissions and record a reply in your account. Ownership concerns can result in a profile being withheld until resolved.

Advertising

Paid advertisements are clearly labelled and do not purchase editorial verification or a favourable historical assessment.
