This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
Digital image scanned from a 35mm black and white negative of Carolyn Cummings modeling the Galaxy necklace by jeweler Art Smith. Taken near the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts during the 1974 annual summer session, Cummings is captured from the shoulders up, her back to the camera as she stands in front of a body of water. She has a wrap around her shoulders and her hair is up. The necklace has multiple short, curved pieces holding small metal spheres.
