Digital image scanned from a 35mm black and white negative of ceramist Abbas M. Ahuwan hand building a pot at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. A ceramics instructor for the 1974 annual summer session, Dr. Ahuwan stands behind the clay pot, bent over to work on the pot which sits on a pile of sand on the wood floor. Dr. Ahuwan’s face is barely visible. Both of his hands are on the lip of the clay pot. Near his feet, to the left, is a light color bowl with a wood spoon in it. The legs of a camper are to the left and a bucket is to the right.
