Black-and-white silver gelatin photographic print of jeweler Art Smith sitting on a wood bench, holding a cigarette in his proper right hand. Taken near the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts during the 1974 annual summer session, Smith wears three rings (two of his own design); two on his proper right hand and the Floating Opal ring (2023.12.7) on his proper left hand. Smith wears a watch on his proper left wrist, metal rim glasses, a light long sleeved shirt rolled up, and light color pants. Facing the camera, Smith’s gaze looks off to the left. Behind his are tree trunks. There are no inscriptions on the front or back of the photograph.
