Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

Black-and-white silver gelatin photographic print of an unidentified model wearing a necklace by jeweler Art Smith. Taken near the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts during the 1974 annual summer session, the model is captured from a high angle, from the shoulders and a shawl draped around her shoulder. Some strands of her hair cover her face as she looks off to the side. The necklace has a large, dark stone pendant with a thin metal band holding a small gemstone. There are no inscriptions on the front or back of the photograph.
