An African wooden statue of a male figure, originally of the Baule people, encased in tinted polyurethane resin (a) with an acrylic base (b) and aluminum stand (c). The male figure is nude with two mouths and a double pointed beard. The figure is in a traditional pose with his knees bent and his hands in front of him. The figure has carved designs throughout: two rows of squares at the top of the head, under the hairline and between the eyes and ears; two squares on the front of the neck and the back of each leg; multiple lines of circles on the back of the neck and along the front and back of the torso. The back of the statue is cut at the base. It has been encased within resin in a rectangular shape with eight, smooth concave ellipses at the top and bottom of each side.
