This is the Classic Translucency ring designed and created by jeweler Art Smith. The ring's wide and flat sterling silver band is open-ended at the base and features a large chalcedony cabochon. The chalcedony stone is a translucent, grayish white and has been smoothly polished into an oval shape. The chalcedony is vertically set in a silver bezel. A rounded silver wire, flattened at both ends, is wrapped around the stone and bezel. The interstices and the interior of the ring are patinated black. The ring has one hallmark on the bridge, Smith’s signature [Art Smith].
