Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

A mimeograph reproduction of Still Life, by Hartwell Yeargans for the Committee for the Negro in the Arts, Art Workshop Folio. Printed in black ink on white paper, it is a reproduction of a charcoal still life drawing depicting an arrangement on a table cloth covered table. The arrangement includes a tall, handled jug, a tulip vase filled with short branches covered with spiky leaves, three apples, and a pear. The items are drawn in a stylized manner and dramatically shaded. The white table cloth has a band and zig-zag pattern running along the bottom edge and it is partially draped over the wooden table. The artist signature, [H. Yeargan[s?]], is written at the bottom right, just above the table cloth border. In the background is a wall that is shaded dark on the right and left white on the left. The verso is blank.
