Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

A mimeograph reproduction of Children Playing, by Jackie Edwards for the Committee for the Negro in the Arts, Art Workshop Folio. Printed in black on white paper, it is a reproduction of a charcoal drawing that depicts a girl, standing with her back to the viewer, watching a group of children playing in a circle with linked hands. The girl, who stands in the foreground on the left side of the drawing, is depicted from the thighs up standing with her hands curled into fists at her side. She is leaning against the corner of a brick wall watching the other children play. She has long dark hair and is wearing a light, long sleeve shirt and dark pants. The children she watches, who stand in the right mid ground, are depicted standing in full length in a circle.
