A pencil sketch of a street scene at Place Sainte-Geneviève in Paris. At right is the corner entrance of the Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, with a set of wide, curved steps, a short tower with a conical roof, and two arched windows set one above the other. At left is a narrow, four-story building. Two small steps lead up to doorway with shutters on either side. The second and third stories each have two windows and the fourth has a single window at the roof line. In between this building and the church, a third building is partially visible through a narrow passageway. At bottom right is an inscription in graphite: “Place Saint Geneveve [sic].”
