A color photograph of Shel Jackson captured by Dana Scruggs. The photograph of Jackson, taken in Ridgewood, Queens, New York, depicts him in a variation of an arabesque ballet pose on a sidewalk in front of a red brick building. Jackson is shown in full length, wearing black Adidas track pants with three white stripes running down the outer leg seam, white sneakers, and a charcoal gray, short sleeve T-shirt. The T-shirt has been pulled over his head and is wrapped around the back of his neck, leaving his chest bare. He is shown in profile with his body facing the left edge of the image and his head turned towards the viewer. He is standing on the tip toes of his proper right foot with his knee slightly bent. His proper left leg is raised behind him and held parallel to the ground.
