Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

This is an abstract silkscreen print by Sam Gilliam. It features a charcoal grey background with textured lighter grey patches throughout. Grey lines form curvilinear and rectilinear shapes that are superimposed over the charcoal grey background. A partial white line forms roughly three-quarters of a rectangle that runs off the bottom of the sheet. Thin bright blue lines are superimposed over the grey and white lines, forming triangles, straight lines, and what appear to be phrases in a reversed script. The work is signed and dated bottom right corner: [Sam Gilliam 81]. The edition is in the lower left corner: [48/60].
