Source catalog description

This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

A plated silver collar-style necklace composed of two separate semi-circular metal pieces facing opposite sides and conjoined by a silver wire connector clasp at the center of each. On top of the wire is a sagenite stone set in a silver bezel. The connector clasp allows for the bottom semi-circular portion to move freely while the piece is worn. Both semi-circular pieces are made by soldering an edge onto a flat sheet of metal. The artist has no mark engraved into this particular piece.
