Source catalog description
This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
Color inkjet print (a) of Pearl Mae Bailey in a green frame (b). The photograph (a) is intentionally out of focus. The figure of Pearl Mae Bailey looking off camera to the left wearing a one shoulder outfit with both of her hands raised in front of her. Bailey is in front of a background with a metallic center and draped blue fabric on each side. The original photograph clearly shows the textured metallic fabric in the center of the background. This image also shows that Bailey has a ring on each finger and red nail polish. Her hands are posed as though they are in movement. The fabric of Bailey's dress gathers at the clasp on her shoulder. The photograph is inset in the frame (b). The back borders of the frame are raised and have paper tape around the edges. At the top is a sticker with the TransArt International shipping label.
