A timber carrier. The carrier is constructed from iron lifting tongs, or log tongs, with a wooden handle. The tongs are rounded and have two (2) sharp, gripping teeth. The shanks are attached to a center ring with two large bolts. The ring is wrapped around the center of the crossbar held in place with a bolt. The ring is attached to the tongs with a swivel. The carrier handle is constructed from a single piece of carved wood that is thick towards the center but tapers to rounded grips at each end. There is an associated white paper tag with handwritten black ink text that reads [LOG TONGS / for 4 MEN].
