A game program for the 40th Bayou Classic. The front cover features a full-page color illustration of football players and marching band members from Grambling State and Southern University. Across the top are gray and red stripes with [BAYOU] on the proper right and [CLASSIC] on the proper left, above a black section. At the top center is a white “40” outlined in black and gold, overlaid with a circular Bayou Classic logo: red on top, black on bottom, with white text [BAYOU CLASSIC / GRAMBLING SOUTHERN], a white fleur-de-lis between the names, and a white center with a blue Louisiana silhouette. Below is a color depiction of a tiger and jaguar biting opposite ends of a football, with yellow text [SINCE / 1974] on the ball and a white “TM” near the jaguar’s head. Gray and red stripes along the bottom read [MERCEDES-BENZ SUPERDOME NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA / SOUTHERN VS GRAMBLING].
