Jet Magazine, volume 1, number 2, featuring a black and white image of Katherine Dunham, against a yellow background. Dunham is wearing a black off-the-shoulders dress decorated with feathers, fishnet stockings, heeled shoes, a feathered half hat, and a long string of pearls around her neck and her additional pearls around her proper left wrist. She is facing the camera, perched on the side edge of a cushion back chair, with her proper left leg under the knee of her proper right leg. To the left of Dunham’s image is the model’s credit with a caption, in black ink, that reads [Katherine Dunham: / Did She Win Aly Khan / From Rita?] and the associated cover line in a black box with white text in the bottom left corner that reads [HOW NEGRO BEAUTIES / CHARM EUROPE’S MEN].
