This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.

An apron with fruit bowl appliqué made of printed cotton and cotton muslin, it is likely handmade. The apron fastens at the top of the shoulders with a black plastic four leaf clover button on each side. These buttons align with buttonholes on the back straps of the apron. Printed cotton with a striped watercolor effect in muted pink, blue, brown and purple is sewn to the top, ending at chest level. The bottom portion of the apron is made of unbleached cotton muslin. A patchwork appliqué depicting a fruit bowl is machine zig zag sewn to the center front. The appliqued fruit is made of cotton except for the pineapple stem which is made of cotton corduroy. The fruit bowl is made of the same printed cotton used at the top of the apron.
