Source catalog description
This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
An ivory moire jacket with pagoda sleeves. The jacket features a lapel collar and two panels for the front with no center front fastenings. There are two long pagoda sleeves made from one panel of ivory moire fabric each, seamed at the inner arm. One panel of ivory moire makes up the back of the jacket with two shaping darts (one at each shoulder). The bottom hem of the jacket is turned under and machine stitched into place. Three panels of ivory synthetic faille line the interior body of the jacket – one panel for the back, two for the front, and the center front panels are self-faced with 3.5” panel of self-ivory moire fabric. Each sleeve is lined with one panel, sewn to itself at the inner arm.
