Source catalog description
This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
The handbag is made from one panel of clear plastic that’s been cut and seamed to itself at the sides. There’s an all over grid pattern made from gold metallic thread that’s embedded in the plastic. The purse frame is made from gold plated metal and there’s an 11” metal chain attached to the frame with metal O-rings. It’s possible that there was an applied application on the center front of the purse. The inside is unlined and there is no label.
