Source catalog description
This description refers to material held by Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Visual details below describe the original material.
A green clutch bag with a bow and a wrist strap. The body of the purse is made from two panels of canvas fabric painted green with polyurethane paint. It’s gathered at the top center front and back into self-fabric binding along the edge. There’s also a piped seam along the purse where the two panels join. The purse zippers closed at the top with a plastic zipper and metal pull. A 6.5” self- fabric wrist strap is attached to the zipper and a 5.5” self-fabric double-looped bow on the proper right side. Two panels of green plastic vinyl line the inside, and the brand name [VALERIE BARAD] is printed repeatedly in gold cursive font. There’s a 6.5 wide zipped pocket at the interior back and a cream fabric label at the interior proper right that reads [R.O.C / MADE IN TAIWAN / VALERIE BARAD].
